| Women in general like to pamper themselves with beauty products such as bath oils, fragrances, bath beads, body lotions and other bath products designed to enrich the body and make oneself feeling good.
A woman is an adult female human being, as contrasted to a man, an adult male, and a girl, a female child. The term woman (irregular plural: women) is used to indicate biological sex distinctions, cultural gender role distinctions, or both. Todays new woman needs the time for relaxing baths and essential body care to keep a younger and healthier look. There are various words used to refer to the quality of being a woman. The term "womanhood" merely means the state of being a woman; "femininity" is used to refer to a set of supposedly typical female qualities associated with a certain attitude to gender roles; "womanliness" is like "feminity", but is usually associated with a different view of gender rôles; "femaleness" is a general term, but is often used as shorthand for "human femaleness"; "distaff" is an archaic adjective derived from women's conventional rôle as a spinner, now used only as a deliberate archaism; "muliebrity" is a neologism meant to provide a female counterpart of "virility", but used very loosely, sometimes to mean merely "womanhood", sometimes "femininity", and sometimes even as a collective term for women. It was a reaction to the role, as characterized by the so-called Cult of Domesticity, ascribed to women in the Victorian era. Advocates of the New Woman ideal were found among novelists, playwrights, journalists, pamphleteers, political thinkers and suffragettes. Men who favoured the new cause gathered, for example, in the Fabian Society. The supporters' common aim was to encourage women to liberate themselves from male domination, manage their own lives, and leave behind anything that might restrict their pursuit of happiness and their self-realization. Heavily opposed by conservatives, the New Woman movement started to fade away in the course of the First World War when, due to a shortage of "manpower", many women took on jobs and when, shortly after the war, universal suffrage was achieved.
Certain characteristics were seen as pertinent to the new ideal. By general consent, a "New Woman" was supposed * to have received an adequate education (primary, secondary and preferably
also tertiary) and to be able to use her knowledge wisely; Not all proponents of the New Woman went equally far in their demands. For example, while it was generally acknowledged that the Victorian moral code and in particular double standards of morality must be abandoned, the concept of free love was by no means universally advocated. A body lotion is a salve used when cleaning or freshening skin. There are many brands of lotion, some are manufactured all over the world. From emulsion of water, oil, milk, and oleyl alcohol, a simple lotion can be produced. Perfume is a mixture of fragrant essential oils and aroma compounds,
a fixative, and alcohol used to give parts of the human body and sometimes
other objects a long-lasting and pleasant smell. Bath fragrances for the
caring woman tend to be relaxing and comforting. |
